Stock brokers and investing apps reward new customers with a free share, a cash bonus for new money, or a match on assets you transfer in. Most free shares are worth $5 to $25, and the larger cash bonuses need large deposits held for months. Each offer below is checked against the broker's own terms.

New Trading 212 clients who open and fund an Invest, Stocks ISA or SIPP account get one randomly selected free fractional share worth 8 to 100 in the account's currency (pounds in the UK, euros in the EU; 80% are worth 8 to 25), with the cash value locked for 30 days.

comdirect
New comdirect customers resident in Germany get EUR 100 in their settlement account about a week after opening a comdirect Depot by 1 November 2026. There is no trade or deposit requirement, but you must accept marketing e-mails until the bonus is paid.
RBC Direct Investing
Open your first RBC GoSmart account by November 2, 2026 and contribute at least C$2,000 by February 2, 2027 to get C$100 cash, paid within 7 days of qualifying. GoSmart is currently only for RBC banking clients using the RBC Mobile app.
Revolut

Enter offer code 600ME when you open a new Merrill Cash Management Account or IRA, add at least $20,000 in net new assets within 45 days, and Merrill pays $100 to $600 in cash after a 90-day hold.
Stash
Stash gives new U.S. customers a $25 bonus after they open an individual brokerage account, invest at least $5, and keep the funds in the account for 90 days.
E*TRADE
New E*TRADE clients who open one brokerage account with code OFFER26 by October 31, 2026 and deposit at least $1,000 of outside money within 60 days get a cash credit of $50, $150 at $5,000 or $300 at $20,000, rising to $10,000 at $5 million, then must keep the money there for 12 months.
Firstrade
Firstrade reimburses the ACAT transfer fee your old broker charges, up to $250, when you move $2,500 or more in eligible assets and keep them parked for 12 months.

New UK Revolut customers get £20 in real cash after opening a Personal account through a promotion link and spending at least £20 on their Revolut card.

Public pays a 1% cash match, with no cap, on brokerage ACAT transfers, IRA transfers and 401(k) rollovers, paid in 60 monthly installments, plus up to $100 in transfer-out fees reimbursed. The offer was relaunched on September 14, 2026 with no end date.
Public.com
Public matches 1% of eligible contributions to a Traditional or Roth IRA, up to the IRS annual contribution limit, worth up to $75 per year at the 2026 limit, or $86 with the age-50 catch-up. The match is paid in 12 monthly installments.
Qtrade
New Qtrade Direct Investing clients who open an account with promo code OFFER2026 by January 5, 2027 get 5% cash back on C$1,000 to C$10,000 of new deposits, then flat amounts from C$550 to C$5,000 on larger ones. The money must stay until February 5, 2028 and is paid around March 5, 2028.
RBC Direct Investing
New RBC Direct Investing clients who open an account through RBC's promotional link by November 2, 2026 and bring in at least C$2,500 by November 30, 2026 get 3% cash back in registered accounts and 1% in cash or margin accounts, capped at C$15,000, if the assets stay until November 30, 2028.
Robinhood
Robinhood pays a cash bonus of 1%, 2% or 3% on net assets moved in by ACATS transfer between September 21 and October 16, 2026. Robinhood assigns your rate, and you must keep the transferred value in the account for 5 years or face a proportional chargeback.

Free-stock offers are mostly small. Robinhood's sign-up stock is worth $5 for about 99% of people, SoFi's claw game lands on $5 for most players, and Webull gives 10 fractional shares for a first deposit of $100. In the UK and Europe, Trading 212, Freetrade and Lightyear award a random share worth up to £100 or €100, but most awards are 8 to 25.
The bigger numbers need bigger deposits. Moomoo's NVDA offer starts at $30 for $500 and only reaches $1,000 at $100,000, eToro pays $10 to $500 in stock depending on your first deposit, and Public's $100 in stock comes through a referral with a $1,000 first deposit.
Brokers that want larger accounts pay cash or a percentage instead of a share. In the US, J.P. Morgan, Merrill and E*TRADE pay tiered cash for new money, and Robinhood, Public and Moomoo match assets transferred from another broker; see brokerage account bonuses in the US. Nearly every offer locks something. Trading 212 locks the cash value of its free share for 30 days, Stash holds its bonus for 90 days, and Freetrade and Lightyear lock the reward for six months. eToro asks you to keep the qualifying deposit for 90 days, E*TRADE for 12 months after its funding window, and Robinhood can charge back a transfer match for five years. Withdrawing early usually costs you the reward.
In the US a free stock is treated as income at its value on the day you receive it, reported on Form 1099-MISC when the yearly total is large enough, and that value becomes your cost basis when you sell. Cash bonuses are taxable too. Other countries treat promotional shares differently, and the UK's HMRC has no guidance specific to them, so keep the award records and check the rules where you live.
