Stash It Forward is Stash's refer-a-friend program for U.S. customers. When you share your unique referral link from the Stash app and a friend uses it to open a Qualifying New Personal Portfolio and deposit at least $5, Stash pays you up to $30 for the referral.
The referred friend also receives a reward (a cash bonus or stock reward) for signing up and funding their account. The catch is in the holding period and the fine print. Any reward, cash bonus or stock, must stay in the account for 90 days from the date it is deposited before it can be withdrawn, and selling early can forfeit it.
The terms describe a range rather than a fixed figure: cash bonuses can be anywhere from $5 to $100 and stock rewards from $20 to $100, with the exact amount set by Stash in each offer message, so $30 is the figure Stash's own terms and most current offers advertise rather than a guaranteed top payout.
Total referral compensation is capped at $1,000 over any rolling 12-month period (some older offers stated $500). Stock rewards must be claimed within 7 days through the Stash platform or they convert to a cash bonus. Eligibility is limited to U.S. residents with an individual taxable brokerage account (Personal Portfolio) in good standing.
