Lightyear's Refer-a-Friend scheme pays you a free stock reward when someone you invite opens their first Lightyear account and funds it with at least €100 within 30 days of clicking your referral link. Your friend gets a reward too.
Both parties receive a fractional share rather than cash, and the reward is usually credited within 10 business days of the friend qualifying. The catch is in the size and the lock-up. Marketing language advertises rewards of "up to €100", but the official terms describe a randomized reward where roughly 85% of payouts land in the €10 to €15 band, with the larger €30 to €100 amounts each carrying single-digit or sub-1% odds, so €10 is the realistic figure most people receive.
On top of that, the reward (or an equivalent account balance if you sell the stock) cannot be withdrawn until 6 months after it is received. The promo-code welcome bonus and the referral bonus cannot be combined. Eligibility is limited to new customers who have never held a Lightyear account, in the jurisdictions where Lightyear operates (primarily the EU and UK).
