by Robinhood
Robinhood pays a cash bonus of 1%, 2% or 3% on net assets moved in by ACATS transfer between September 21 and October 16, 2026. Robinhood assigns your rate, and you must keep the transferred value in the account for 5 years or face a proportional chargeback.

Risk warning: Trading carries a high risk of losing money, especially with leveraged products such as CFDs. A bonus does not reduce that risk. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.

Checking availability…The catch
The bonus is paid as cash into the brokerage account but is subject to a 5-year earn-out. Withdrawals treated as removing bonus-eligible assets within 5 years trigger a chargeback at your bonus rate on the amount removed, taken from cash, your linked bank account or a margin balance. A one-time 60-day grace period is available after 90 days of keeping the full value, with the unearned bonus frozen meanwhile.
How to claim
- Open the Robinhood app and check that the account transfer offer appears, along with your personalized 1%, 2% or 3% rate.
- Initiate an ACATS transfer from an external US brokerage into your self-directed individual or joint taxable Robinhood account before 8:59:59 PM PT on October 16, 2026.
- Wait for the transfer to settle. The cash bonus is credited to the brokerage account right after settlement.
- If you moved $7,500 or more and the old broker charged a transfer fee, contact Robinhood support to request up to $75 in reimbursement.
- Keep the transferred value in the account for 5 years to avoid a proportional chargeback.
Full review
Robinhood Financial LLC is running a time-limited account transfer bonus as part of its HOOD Month campaign. If you initiate an ACATS transfer from another US brokerage into a self-directed individual or joint taxable Robinhood account between 9:00 AM PT on September 21, 2026 and 8:59:59 PM PT on October 16, 2026, Robinhood pays a cash bonus on the net value that settles.
You do not choose the rate. Robinhood assigns each eligible customer a personalized rate of 1%, 2% or 3% based on its own evaluation, and the offer in your app shows which one you get. If the offer does not appear in your app, your account may be ineligible.
Plan on the 1% floor unless the app shows more: a $10,000 transfer earns $100 at 1%, $200 at 2% or $300 at 3%. The bonus has no cap and is credited as cash to the brokerage account right after the transfer settles, valued at the prior trading day's closing prices.
Robinhood Gold is not required. Transfers of $7,500 or more also qualify for up to $75 in reimbursed outgoing transfer fees, which you request from support. The catch is the 5-year earn-out. For five years after the bonus is credited, any withdrawal that Robinhood treats as removing bonus-eligible assets triggers a chargeback at your bonus rate on that amount.
Withdrawals are applied first to money that earned no bonus, then to net gains, and only then to the transferred assets. They include ACH and wire transfers out, debit card spending, ACATS transfers out and moves to Robinhood Banking or a Robinhood IRA.
The terms say the chargeback may be reduced as you progress toward the five years, and after keeping the full value for 90 consecutive days you can use a one-time 60-day grace period for withdrawals, during which the unearned part of the bonus is frozen until the money comes back.
Only net new assets count, so anything you move out during the offer period is subtracted. Cash deposits by ACH do not qualify, and IRAs and Robinhood Strategies managed accounts are excluded. The offer is open to legal residents of the 50 US states and DC, and the bonus, or any chargeback, may be reported on a Form 1099.
Pros
- +No cap on the cash bonus, paid right after the transfer settles
- +No Robinhood Gold subscription required

- −Transfers must be initiated by October 16, 2026
- −Taxable individual and joint accounts only; IRAs and managed accounts are excluded
