Broker bonuses in Pakistan

78 bonuses we have verified as available to traders in Pakistan.

Pakistan has a large and persistent retail forex community and a regulator that plainly disapproves of where most of it trades. The SECP licenses no retail forex or CFD brokers, warns repeatedly that offshore platforms operate without authorization, and has referred platforms to the FIA for blocking.

There is one regulated domestic route: currency futures on PMEX through SECP-licensed brokers. Everything else runs offshore in a gray zone, constrained less by securities law than by the State Bank's exchange controls. This page lays out both paths honestly before listing the offers we have verified.

Which bonuses you can claim

The official position is unambiguous about platforms and silent about individuals. The SECP has stated plainly that offshore forex and trading platforms hold no authorization, offer users no legal protection or recourse, and that promoting them locally invites enforcement. Whether an individual trading personal funds through a foreign broker commits an offence is not addressed in those warnings; the enforcement record targets platforms and promoters. That is a gray zone, and it should be treated as one.

No rule addresses bonuses because no regulator recognizes the underlying activity: offshore brokers apply their standard global promotions wherever their own eligibility lists allow. The regulated alternative is real but narrower, rupee currency futures and gold on PMEX through licensed brokers, without international bonus programs but with a domestic regulator attached.

Exchange controls shape the practical path. Individuals face annual FX purchase ceilings, cash channels have been progressively restricted in favor of digital ones, and direct wires to foreign brokers are difficult, which is why funding commonly runs through cards, e-wallets and crypto rails. Every added step is a counterparty; small amounts and early withdrawal tests are the sensible posture, and no bonus percentage changes that arithmetic.

Who regulates trading in Pakistan

  • Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) secp.gov.pk ↗

Regulates the corporate sector and capital markets. It licenses no retail forex or CFD brokers, warns publicly against unauthorized online trading platforms, and has referred named platforms to the FIA and the telecom authority for blocking.

  • State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) sbp.org.pk ↗

The central bank administers exchange controls under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, sets individual FX purchase and remittance limits, and since late 2025 requires foreign currency purchases for resident accounts to move through digital channels.

  • Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) pmex.com.pk ↗

The only SECP-licensed commodity and currency futures exchange. Residents can legally trade rupee-based currency futures and commodities such as gold through licensed PMEX brokers, the one domestically regulated route to currency exposure.

Trading in Pakistan

Local currency: PKR

Pakistani retail activity spans offshore forex majors, gold in both its PMEX and informal forms, and a large crypto segment used as much for funding as for speculation. Dollar-settled offshore accounts dominate the informal side.

Trading profits are taxable: gains fall under the Income Tax Ordinance and are reported to the FBR, with rates that depend on filer status, running materially higher for non-filers. Records matter doubly here, for the FBR and for proving the provenance of funds moving through controlled channels.

Frequently asked questions

Is forex trading legal in Pakistan?
The regulated route is PMEX currency futures through SECP-licensed brokers. Offshore platforms hold no authorization, and the SECP warns against them while stopping short of addressing individual traders; the activity sits in a gray zone where enforcement has targeted platforms and promoters.
Are broker bonuses available to Pakistani traders?
Offshore brokers extend their standard global promotions where their eligibility lists allow. No Pakistani rule addresses bonus terms, because no Pakistani regulator licenses the activity at all.
What limits apply to funding an account abroad?
SBP exchange controls cap individual FX purchases annually and have shifted foreign currency dealings to digital channels. Direct wires to brokers are hard, so funding tends to run through cards, e-wallets and crypto rails, each adding a counterparty between you and your money.
Do I pay tax on trading profits in Pakistan?
Yes. Gains are taxable under the Income Tax Ordinance and reported to the FBR, with filer status determining the rate band. Non-filers pay materially more, which makes regularizing status part of the trading economics.
