Broker bonuses in Spain

43 bonuses we have verified as available to traders in Spain.

Spanish traders see plenty of bonus adverts, but very few of them are real offers you can actually take. The rules on incentives here are firm, and the CNMV has gone further than many regulators on how CFD products may be marketed at all.

78 more offers we track are not available to residents here.

This page sets out who supervises trading in Spain, why most forex and CFD bonuses are not available to residents, and the kinds of promotions that can still legitimately reach you.

Which bonuses you can claim

The starting point is the EU product intervention regime from ESMA, which the CNMV applies in Spain. For retail contracts for difference, providers may not use bonuses or other incentives to attract or reward clients. Deposit matches, welcome credits and volume-based cash rewards on CFD or forex accounts are not permitted for Spanish retail traders.

The CNMV has layered extra restrictions on top. It limits aggressive marketing of CFDs, restricts sponsorship and brand advertising where the aim is to promote these products, and prohibits paying clients to bring in new clients. So even the marketing around CFDs is constrained in Spain, not just the bonuses themselves.

These rules target leveraged CFD products specifically. They do not reach every offer. A broker that gives you access to real shares may still run a free-share or commission-rebate promotion on a stock account, and crypto platforms operating under their own registration can still offer sign-up rewards. If an incentive is tied to CFDs or forex and aimed at Spanish residents, though, a compliant firm will not be paying it.

Who regulates trading in Spain

  • Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) cnmv.es ↗

Spain's securities markets regulator. It enforces the EU restrictions on retail CFDs and has added its own limits on bonuses, sponsorship and advertising for these products.

Trading in Spain

Local currency: EUR

Spain uses the euro, so balances, deposits and any qualifying promotions are in EUR. Spanish retail traders generally stick to brokers that show their CNMV registration or EU passport status, and many of those firms also offer ordinary securities accounts that fit local tax and reporting habits.

Treat EU-regulation claims with healthy scepticism when they appear next to a CFD bonus. If a firm were genuinely cleared to serve Spanish retail clients, it could not pay that bonus, and the CNMV's stricter advertising rules would not let it promote the product that way either. The CNMV keeps public warning lists of unauthorised entities, and a flashy CFD incentive aimed at Spanish users is a reason to slow down and check the register first.

Frequently asked questions

Are forex and CFD bonuses allowed in Spain?
No. The CNMV applies the EU ban on incentives for retail CFD and forex products, and adds its own restrictions on bonuses and aggressive marketing. A regulated broker will not offer them to Spanish residents.
How can I confirm a broker is authorised in Spain?
Check the firm against the CNMV's registers at cnmv.es, and look at the CNMV's published warnings about unauthorised entities (chiringuitos financieros).
Is there any offer a Spanish trader can still get?
Yes, but typically not on CFDs. Free-share or fee-rebate offers on real stock accounts, and crypto sign-up rewards, can still be available because they sit outside the CFD rules.
Why is Spain stricter than some other EU countries on this?
Beyond the shared EU ban, the CNMV has added national limits on CFD advertising, sponsorship and client referral payments, so the marketing of these products is more tightly controlled here.
