The FCA permanently banned monetary and non-monetary incentives for retail CFDs in 2019. Brokers cannot offer cash bonuses, cashback, rebates or perks to encourage UK retail clients to open or trade CFD accounts. The regulator found that bonus terms were often misleading and distracted clients from the real risk of the product, so the restriction is built into its handbook rather than being a temporary measure.
Crypto adds a second layer. Since the FCA's financial promotion rules took effect, incentives to invest in cryptoassets, including new-joiner bonuses and refer-a-friend rewards, are also restricted for UK consumers. So both the forex and the crypto sign-up offers common elsewhere are largely unavailable here.
Where UK traders still see legitimate offers is mainly free-share promotions from regulated stock and investment brokers, which sit under different rules from CFD incentives. Those are the offers worth focusing on, and they are what the list below surfaces for the UK.
