Broker bonuses in United Kingdom

21 bonuses we have verified as available to traders in United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom has some of the strictest rules in the world on how brokers can promote themselves to retail clients. If you trade from the UK, the headline bonuses that fill broker comparison sites are mostly not for you, and that is by design.

100 more offers we track are not available to residents here.

This page explains what the Financial Conduct Authority allows, what it has banned outright, and where genuine offers still exist for UK traders. The list below is limited to offers we have researched that a UK resident can actually claim.

Which bonuses you can claim

The FCA permanently banned monetary and non-monetary incentives for retail CFDs in 2019. Brokers cannot offer cash bonuses, cashback, rebates or perks to encourage UK retail clients to open or trade CFD accounts. The regulator found that bonus terms were often misleading and distracted clients from the real risk of the product, so the restriction is built into its handbook rather than being a temporary measure.

Crypto adds a second layer. Since the FCA's financial promotion rules took effect, incentives to invest in cryptoassets, including new-joiner bonuses and refer-a-friend rewards, are also restricted for UK consumers. So both the forex and the crypto sign-up offers common elsewhere are largely unavailable here.

Where UK traders still see legitimate offers is mainly free-share promotions from regulated stock and investment brokers, which sit under different rules from CFD incentives. Those are the offers worth focusing on, and they are what the list below surfaces for the UK.

Who regulates trading in United Kingdom

  • Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) fca.org.uk ↗

The UK's conduct regulator. Its permanent CFD rules and financial promotion regime govern what bonuses brokers may offer.

Trading in United Kingdom

Local currency: GBP

Britain has a deep retail investing culture, and the strongest UK brokers compete on low costs, ISA tax wrappers and reliable execution rather than bonuses. Accounts are usually denominated in pounds, and stocks-and-shares ISAs let UK residents shelter investment gains, which often matters more than any sign-up perk.

If a broker offers you a forex or CFD bonus and claims FCA regulation, be sceptical. A genuinely FCA-regulated firm is not permitted to make that offer to you, so either the promotion is not really for UK clients or the regulated entity is not the one you would be trading with.

Frequently asked questions

Are forex and CFD bonuses banned in the UK?
Yes. The FCA permanently banned monetary and non-monetary incentives for retail CFD accounts in 2019, so an FCA-regulated broker cannot offer you a forex or CFD bonus.
Can I get a crypto sign-up bonus in the UK?
Mostly no. The FCA's financial promotion rules restrict incentives to invest in cryptoassets for UK consumers, including new-joiner bonuses and referral rewards, so these offers are largely unavailable here.
What broker offers can UK traders still claim?
Free-share offers from regulated stock and investment brokers are the main category that remains, because they fall under different rules from CFD incentives. The list on this page shows the offers we have verified for the UK.
How do I confirm a broker is FCA regulated?
Search the FCA Register at register.fca.org.uk for the firm and reference number, and check the entity that will hold your account matches the authorised one before depositing.
