Who VT Markets is

VT Markets dates to 2015, going by the registration number of its South African company (2015/072049/07), though some sources give 2016. Its trading products are issued by VT Markets Limited in Ebene, Mauritius, which the Financial Services Commission licenses as an Investment Dealer (Full Service Distributor, excluding underwriting) under licence GB23202269. VT Markets (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is registered with South Africa's FSCA as FSP 50865, but it acts as an intermediary under the FAIS Act and is not the product issuer. A Dubai branch holds a UAE Capital Market Authority licence (20200000299, Category 5) that covers introduction and promotion only, with no brokerage.

The product list covers forex, indices, energies, precious metals, soft commodities, ETFs, stock CFDs, bond CFDs and synthetic indices. Trading runs on MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, a WebTrader, the VT Markets app and TradingView. Some third-party sites cite an Australian ASIC licence (516246) that VT Markets' own regulation page does not list, so do not assume an Australian entity will hold your account.

Accounts and costs

The Standard STP account has spreads from 1.2 pips and no commission. The Raw ECN account has spreads from 0.0 pips plus $6 per lot round turn. Both need a $100 minimum deposit, take a minimum trade of 0.01 lot and can be held in AUD, USD, HKD, GBP, EUR or CAD. Cent accounts (STP and ECN versions) start at $50, are held in US cents and are limited to forex, gold, silver and oil. Swap-free versions of the STP and ECN accounts list leverage up to 1000:1. A Pro ECN account for larger traders is advertised with lower commissions, but VT Markets publishes no figures for it.

The accounts page does not publish deposit, withdrawal or inactivity fees, so check the funding section of the client portal before you deposit.

How the welcome bonus works

New live accounts get 50% of the first deposit as trading credit, capped at $500. The cap needs a $1,000 deposit, so a $500 deposit gets $250. You are opted in automatically and the credit arrives within one business day. Later deposits fall under a separate 20% deposit bonus. The offer cannot be combined with other offers, and PAMM, MAM and copy trading accounts are excluded.

The credit is margin, not money. VT Markets says the credit cannot be withdrawn and only profits made while using it can be paid out. Review sites that quote the terms add that withdrawing part of your deposit shrinks or removes the credit, and that the credit is taken back if equity falls below it, which can stop out open positions. The official page does not state those two rules, so confirm them in the client portal. The general promotion terms let VT Markets cancel the offer at any time, refuse applicants without a reason and deduct the bonus for churning or hedging across accounts (clauses 9 and 11).

The promotions hub at vt-promotions.global also lists an Active Trader Programme, a VPS refund, the ClubBleu and ClubElite programmes, Refer a Friend and a Welcome Pack that needs a $5,000 deposit. No no-deposit bonus was found. Regional sites can advertise different numbers: on 2026-10-08 the Latin American Spanish homepage showed a 100% welcome bonus, so check the offer page for your region.

Safety and regulation

In practice your contract is with VT Markets Limited in Mauritius. The FSC is a lighter regulator than the FCA, ASIC or EU authorities, the South African entity only introduces clients, and the Dubai branch cannot offer brokerage. Leverage up to 1000:1 and deposit bonuses are possible because of that offshore setup.

The IOSCO I-SCAN database lists alerts naming VT Markets entities or domains from the Hong Kong SFC (July 2026, unlicensed), Quebec's AMF (February 2026, not registered), Italy's CONSOB (several domains, 2025 to 2026), Denmark's DFSA (2024), the UK FCA (2023, vtmarkets.com) and Spain's CNMV (2024, vtmarkets.net). These alerts mean VT Markets is not authorised in those places. VT Markets does not serve residents of the US, Singapore, India or Russia, says it has no presence in Germany, and excludes FATF-listed and sanctioned countries.

No. The welcome credit has no code. You are opted in automatically when your first deposit is processed, and the credit appears within one business day.

Is VT Markets regulated?

Its products are issued by VT Markets Limited, licensed by the Mauritius FSC (GB23202269). VT Markets (Pty) Ltd is registered with South Africa's FSCA (FSP 50865) as an intermediary, and a Dubai branch holds a promotion-only CMA licence.
