Risk warning: Trading carries a high risk of losing money, especially with leveraged products such as CFDs. A bonus does not reduce that risk. Only deposit what you can afford to lose.

The catch

The "$50,000 first prize" is not withdrawable as cash. Per ForexCup's published rules, prizes ABOVE $1,000 can only be used to open/fund a PAMM ECN money-manager account with FXOpen; only prizes UNDER $1,000 may be withdrawn to a payment system. The full $50,000 is therefore locked into a PAMM ECN account, not cashed out. Winners' prizes are credited to the FXOpen eWallet within 48 hours of the contest end, then subject to this PAMM-only restriction.

How to claim

  1. Open and fund a live FXOpen ECN account (MT4, MT5 or TickTrader) with at least $5,000.
  2. Register for the ForexCup Trading Championship via the ForexCup site.
  3. Trade during the annual contest period and complete at least 10 round-turn trades.
  4. Finish in a ranking position to receive the cash prize; top three also receive a trophy.

Full review

The ForexCup Trading Championship is FXOpen's year-long trading contest, running from January 1 to December 31. Traders compete on a live ECN account (MT4, MT5 or TickTrader) across spot FX, index, commodity, share, ETF, metal and crypto CFDs, and the top of the leaderboard takes a $50,000 cash prize.

Places one through three also get a crystal trophy and promotion across FXOpen and partner media. The catch is the cost of entry and the bar to qualify. You need a funded live account with a minimum $5,000 deposit, real capital at risk for a full year, and at least 10 round-turn trades just to be ranked.

FXOpen's marketing cites "over $200,000 in prizes and 1,500 winners since 2015," which averages to small per-winner payouts: the headline number worth focusing on is the $50,000 awarded to the single annual champion, not the cumulative historical figure.

Account funds are described as withdrawable at any time, but the detailed prize-crediting and withdrawal rules live on the ForexCup rules page, which now requires a login, so those terms could not be confirmed directly. Eligibility is open to traders worldwide who are 18 or older (or the legal age in their country), with US residents excluded.

Anyone meeting the deposit and account requirements can register through the ForexCup site.

Pros

  • +Large $50,000 cash prize for the annual winner
  • +Open to traders worldwide and runs a full year
  • +Account funds remain withdrawable while you compete

Cons

  • Requires a live account with a $5,000 minimum deposit and real capital at risk
  • Only the very top finishers win meaningful cash; most participants get nothing
  • Not available to US residents
  • Full prize and withdrawal rules are now behind a ForexCup login
  • The $50,000 first prize is NOT withdrawable as cash: ForexCup rules state prizes above $1,000 can only be used to open a PAMM ECN account with FXOpen; only prizes under $1,000 are cash-withdrawable
  • The 'funds withdrawable at any time' claim applies only to your own deposited capital, not to the prize money, which is locked into a PAMM ECN account
