Apex Trader Funding

Apex Trader Funding is a futures evaluation (prop) firm based in Austin, Texas, launched in 2021, that sells evaluation accounts on CME futures such as ES, NQ, CL and GC through Tradovate, Rithmic, WealthCharts and NinjaTrader. It is not a broker and holds no financial licence from any regulator: evaluation and Performance Accounts run on simulated funds, payouts come from Apex itself, and there is no investor compensation scheme. It suits futures day traders who accept paying fees for a chance at payouts; it does not suit anyone who wants a regulated brokerage account, forex or CFD trading, or protection for money they deposit.

Who Apex Trader Funding is

Apex Trader Funding was launched in 2021 by Darrell Martin and is based in Austin, Texas; its help center also refers to an earlier Apex Investing Institute dating from 2008. It runs a futures evaluation program on CME products such as the E-mini S&P 500 (ES), Nasdaq (NQ), crude oil (CL) and gold (GC). Traders connect through Tradovate, Rithmic, WealthCharts, NinjaTrader and other third-party tools. Account sizes run from about $25K to $300K.

Apex is not a regulated broker or dealer and holds no financial licence. Evaluation accounts and Performance Accounts (PA) trade simulated funds, so no client money sits at an exchange or clearing firm on your behalf. Payouts are paid by Apex from its own revenue, and there is no investor compensation scheme if the company stops paying. Apex also runs an invitation-only Live program; when it moves a trader there, that trader's simulated accounts end.

How evaluations, fees and payouts work

You pay a fee for an evaluation, then try to reach a profit target without breaching a trailing drawdown. The 25K Intraday Trail evaluation, for example, lists at $167 for 30 days with a $1,500 profit target and a $1,000 trailing drawdown. Version 4.0, launched on March 1, 2026, split the offer into End of Day (EOD) and Intraday trailing drawdown plans and renamed the older evaluations Legacy. Third-party price lists put Legacy evaluations at roughly $167 (25K) to $697 (300K) per month at list price, and the sources do not fully agree.

If you pass, you pay a one-time PA activation fee, which third-party guides put at roughly $69 to $159 depending on plan and drawdown type. Some plans have no activation fee and charge a higher evaluation price instead. Payout rules are strict: a $500 minimum request, five qualifying profit days, a 50% consistency rule, a safety net balance and capped early payouts. Third-party guides say traders keep 100% of the first $25,000 of profit per account and 90% after that, but Apex pages and outside guides disagree on several of these numbers, so read the current help center articles before buying.

Most traders fail. Pass rates across the prop industry are commonly quoted at 5% to 20%, none of them confirmed by Apex, and every failed attempt means paying again for a new evaluation or a reset.

How the Apex discount sales work

Apex has no deposit bonus or cash reward. Its promotion is a discount on the evaluation fee, entered as a coupon code at checkout. In 2026 it ran a sale roughly every month, usually at 80% to 92% off: 90% off with code FUTURE in January, sales in March and April, a long-running 90% affiliate code from May to August, and a 92% off five-year anniversary sale with code FUTURE on October 6 and 7.

The current example is code SAVENOW, shown on the Apex homepage on October 8, 2026 as up to 92% off evaluations of any size, with a countdown ending on October 12, 2026. At that rate the 25K Intraday Trail evaluation costs $13.36 instead of $167. When a sale ends, the next code usually appears on the homepage banner within a few weeks.

A coupon only lowers the evaluation fee. It does not reduce the PA activation fee, and it does not change the profit target, drawdown or payout rules. Many affiliate and coupon sites list unofficial or expired codes, so check the code against the Apex homepage banner before paying.

Who can join

Apex says its services are intended for US users and are not offered where local law prohibits them, but in practice it accepts traders from many countries. It publishes a restricted countries list in its help center, and the versions we found do not fully match, so check the live page. While you are physically in a restricted country you cannot buy accounts or request payouts, and a payment method issued in a restricted country is grounds for termination. Someone born in a restricted country can trade if they live and work in a non-restricted country, with a matching ID, address and bank account.

Traders outside the US are paid through the Plane payout service, which sends an invitation after the first payout is approved. The bank account must be in your country of residence, or the request is rejected.

There is no deposit bonus or cash reward. Apex runs frequent sales that discount the evaluation fee with a coupon code, usually 80% to 92% off, roughly every month in 2026.

What is the Apex Trader Funding promo code?

Apex shows its own code on the homepage banner during each sale. On October 8, 2026 the code was SAVENOW, for up to 92% off evaluations until October 12, 2026. After that, check the banner for the next code, since affiliate sites often list expired or unofficial ones.
